Summer is here and your whole family can’t wait to spend an entire day playing and laying around at the beach. An oversized beach towel is a necessity at the beach to keep you dry, comfortable, and warm.
The size is not the only difference between a standard size and an oversized beach towel. A standard beach towel is generally 30 inches wide by 60 inches long. They range anywhere from ten dollars and up depending on they type purchased. Oversized beach towels are anything larger than a standard size and can generally cost anywhere from fifteen dollars and up. However, the main difference in these two selections is comfort. Large beach towels are by far worth the extra money spent for the added value of comfort.
Laying on an oversized beach towel with your entire body stretched out and not coming in contact with any sand is a great feeling. I can't tell you how many times that the back of my legs and bottom of my feet would get burned because my standard towel was not big enough. I used to even get funky tans because sand was stuck to my skin. It was very annoying and uncomfortable. Never again will I use a standard towel.
Another reason for selecting extra large beach towels is that you have plenty of room to place your stuff. When I go to the beach, it's an all day event. My beach bag is packed with my sunscreen, shades, hat, towel, flip flops, swimsuit, change of clothes, book, magazines, drinks and snacks. I'm there to relax and unwind. The added space from a large beach bag is perfect for all my stuff because I can just set it to the side of me.
Okay, now I feel like I'm going on a tangent, but there are really great benefits to large beach towels. You can also set your sunscreen and cold drink down with out worrying about a hug clump of sand getting stuck to the bottom. You know what I'm talking about. Have you ever tried to rub sunscreen on your body when you got sand on your hand from the bottle. It's seriously like rubbing sand paper all over yourself. Not fun.
When the sun starts to go down and I've changed back into my clothes, I love to just sit directly on the sand and use my large hooded beach towel as a blanket and watch the sun set. Now that's heaven. Having a big beach towel is seriously worth a little more money, and sometimes they are the same price as a regular towel, so why wouldn't you opt for a big on?
